Description: We provide fisheries related experience to students of all majors, help to establish professional contacts, better prepare future professionals, and foster campus and community awareness of fisheries related issues and research projects.

The CMU Fisheries Club meets biweekly to discuss current issues in fisheries and aquatic ecology. Activities include workshops, lectures, presentations for local schools, and field trips. The goals of the organization are to expose students to different aspects of fisheries ecology and allow students to gain experience and explore career opportunities.

Description: The Pre-Veterinary Club has several goals. Our purposes include preparing our members for a future in veterinary medicine and to gain exposure to profession. We wish to increase campus involvement with animals and to offer more opportunities for the public to get involved with animal welfare. Throughout the years, we aim to explore veterinary medicine and promote animal awareness.

Description: The CMU Student Chapter of Wildlife Society meets weekly to discuss Chapter business and to hear presentations by wildlife professionals. The organization is dedicated to excellence in wildlife stewardship through science and education. The organization is committed to the conservation of diversity and the responsible use of wildlife resources for the benefit of society. The organization meets these objectives through education, public outreach, and student research. Examples of anticipated student research include: Veits & Neithercut Woods Deer Project and Wolf Track Survey Project.

Description: The Microscopy Student Association meets intermittently throughout the semester to discuss career paths, hear from professionals in the microscopy field, and to work together to develop social and professional relationships. The goal of the MSA is to explore techniques and research in the microscopy field, to further professional development, and to develop relationships with professionals in microscopy fields. The association meets these goals through student research, seminars, and collaborative work efforts between individuals with the same interests.

The Mt. Pleasant community

Has active chapters of the National Audubon Society and the Sierra Club, both of which work closely with members of the Biology Department.
